This is the kind of racism that people don’t want to admit… it lies it in the back of everyone’s mind. Everyone stereotypes everyone else. I’ll admit that thoughts about people enter my mind, but we have to do our best to quiet those thoughts and remember that EVERYONE is just flesh and blood. You can’t draw conclusions about a whole race, or whole religious body based on stereotypes or on one member of that communities actions. Most people are your garden variety bigots. It’s actually important to know this distinction so we aren’t walking around calling discriminatory practices and people, racist. It devalues the word and desensitizes us and in turn encourages people to zone out.
