Because if Tom Holland shows up, even for a split second, in Venom, by association that immediately means that Venom has to exist within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. READ!!! if they use Spider-Man they have to make it part of the MCU… they are currently renting out the rights of him to the MCU. So yes, they own him, but he isn’t in their universe right now and they can not recast and use him because of the deal they made. If they used him it would be Tom Holland. Reading is a super power.
