rescued from a puppy mill…She has grown into a big baby..Her first two years, i cant imagine, but she was rescued, then adopted by an amazing woman that loved, Bernese mountain dog is love shirt trained, did all the work to socialize her..We then adopted her from this wonderful woman and we love her dearly.

I’m a Berner owner of an 11 1/2 year old male who’s so lonely since losing his best friend Sophie in November (she was a Berner as well). I can provide a wonderful home for this beauty. Both my Berners are rescues This is boomer (2 now) rescued him when he was 5 months old from a man who beat and starved him! He was scared to death of men to the point he would hid in the corner and pee himself but with a lot of work he is amazing with people and animals and extremely spoiled! Bernese mountain dog is love shirt I hope she can find a home that can spoil her and show her what true love is! Does this disease cause the dog any pain (meaning if it gets in the eye lids)? Also, is it necessary to use sunblocks/sunscreens on the dog when going outside? Just wondered as I am not familiar with this condition. I will need to do more research as I am considering a Bernese in the near future.

Berners are the greatest! To those that are freaking about the inbreeding and health defects: while it is true, and our adopted girl Molly here has hip problems at the age of 3, she is the best dog I could ask for and love her to the moon and back. Inbreeding is becoming a common issue with any purebred animal; don’t target these beautiful babies as a dog to avoid. I wouldn’t have my life any other way than with my 170 lb lap dog Not interbred, inbred. Inbred means that to “save the pure blood” of the dog, they end up with not enough genetic variety and families of pups end up being bred irresponsibly with their relatives. Birth and health defects (ie hip displatia) are often the result. Not sure what kind of Berner you have but a purebred berner does not weigh in at 170lb..they are a large breed dog..not a giant breed. My girl is considered large for a female and she is 115-120lb.
