On the official Instagram, Alexander Wang announced the idea of hosting a new show. The brand says the show will be a complex entertainment event that will convey Asian culture in the US through fashion, music and food.
Fortune City will include the runway to unveil Alexander Wang’s Pre-Fall and Fall Winter 2022 collections. On the sidelines are night food markets, musical performances, and more. The event will be open to the general public.
Fortune City is a program jointly organized by Alexander Wang and the association to maintain Chinatown Chinese culture in Southern California. In 2021, the brand once supported Chinatown during the pandemic with a series of posts and check-in photos at the old stores here.
From 2018 until now, Alexander Wang has always presented new collections through independent shows, breaking away from the fixed schedule of New York Fashion Week. However, Alexander Wang’s show Fortune City on April 19 was even more special when it came to marking the return of the designer after sex scandals.
